Learning and Teaching Forum - Work Integrated Learning - October 2008

30 - 31 October 2008
Brisbane Convention Centre

The annual IRU Australia Leadership of Learning and Teaching Forum aims to facilitate discussion and sharing of practices between members of IRU Australia institutions on a wide range of issues relating to learning and teaching.

In 2008, the focus will be on Work Integrated Learning.

The overall aim of the forum is to exchange information about work-integrated learning and develop collaborative practices across member universities. This aim is to be realised through a number of distinct purposes. These are, for participants to:

  • engage in processes of sharing and appraising conceptions of and experiences with the enactments of work integrated learning across member universities;
  • advance the educational worth of this integration;
  • identify bases by which the integration of learning experiences in academic and practice settings might best progress;
  • propose means by which these integrations can be realised across all academic disciplines;
  • identify key policies and practices within member universities required to secure these purposes; and
  • plan for how the member universities might collaboratively engage in advancing effective work-integrated learning.
