Innovative Research Universities
IRU is a network of seven comprehensive universities conducting research of national and international standing. The IRU network has national reach, with an institutional presence in every mainland State of Australia and the Northern Territory.
We collectively operate in over 40 locations reflecting the rich diversity of the nation, with a focus on outer metropolitan and and provincial cities.
Each year we
- teach over 170,000 students, including 40,000 international students from over 120 countries. More than 75% of our international students are from the Asia-Pacific Region.
- enroll 23% of the nation's indigenous students and nearly a third of all students located in remote areas
Our members also operate campuses and centres in a number of global loctions.
